He's growing up fast....

Just a little over 1 week ago we picked up our sweet little Harper. This past Friday (the 28th) Harper had his first Vet visit. Everyone in the place just loved him to death and he seemed to really eat up all the attention. The doctor said he was a great looking puppy and was in really good health. We go back at the end of September for more shots and for them to take more of our money :)
He really seems to have grown a whole lot this past week. He's gotten taller and he's definitely heavier. Our biggest feat lately is he's now pretty comfortable with going down the steps at the apartment. He hasn't been too sure about them so we've been picking him up. A few days ago he got a little too brave and went a bit too fast and ended up rolling down about 5 of them. He's a tough boy though, I just picked him up and loved on him and he was ready to get down and play outside.
I'm really impressed with his potty training. He's already learning to go to the door when he needs to go out. He definitely gets the concept. He's loving the crate that we just got him last week. He still sleeps in the pack-n-play next to our bed at night but during the day he stays in the crate in the living room. We find him in there while we are at home either playing with his toys or taking a nap.
On Saturday we had some new neighbors move in diagonal from us. They has a huge 65 pound pit bull type dog who is full of energy. Luckily they keep him on a tight leash because he LOVES to jump! Harper wasn't too shy. He would go right up to him and let him sniff his face but Harper would get all down as if he wasn't too completely sure about it. Harper will catch up to him in size pretty soon so I'm not too worried about it.
We decided to have a few friends over to the apartment for lunch yesterday and I was anxious to see how Harper would do. It would be the first time he's seen anyone else in our apartment besides us. Surprisingly enough, he acted as if nothing had changed. Instead of getting under everyones feet, he just walked into his crate and slept most of the time. He's really turning out to be a good puppy. His only hang up right now is the biting thing. He's got to learn that he can play with you without putting his mouth on you. It might not be a big deal to people now but when he's 70-90 pounds, they may feel a little differently :)
Harper is getting a lot better walking with his leash. We finally found a collar that fit his neck so when we go for our morning and afternoon walks, it seems to be a lot easier.
