Labor Day Weekend 2009

Picking my grapes with Grandpa

Darren and Grandpa

This pretty much explains Harper and Jude's relationship.

It started off on Friday afternoon while Darren finished up at the dentist (getting a temporary crown), I headed home quickly after work to start loading the car. A family at the church had offered their Lake House to Darren and I. The Lake House was about 45 minutes away from home. Harper slept in my lap on the way there. We pulled up around dinner time and decided to hit up a family restaurant that we saw on the way. We had a great time. As we came back to the house, we settled in and walked out the the pier to get some pictures.

The next morning we invited Randy and Greta to come over and we would grill out and do some swimming. We had ribs, hamburgers, and corn on the grill. We also had lots of sweet treats. After we ate lunch, we all headed down to the pier to swim. Harper got in the water and swam for the first time. He was so cute. When he got tired, he would swim to the rocks or try to get up on a float. He floated around with Randy for a while. Darren and had a little Dare Devil in us and decided to jump of the second story of the pier. It may not look that high in pictures but it was definitely a little scary.

That evening we headed home to quickly unpack and pack up again because we would be leaving for Greenville the next day.

The next day we ended up finishing up at church at about 1pm and started on our trip to Greenville. Once we got there we went to Crosspointe Fellowship and jammed out with their band for a little while. Darren and I had a great time.

That night we watched a movie with mom and dad and introduced Harper to his step brother Jude. I think they played and wrestled the whole trip. Harper was bad about getting a mouth full of Judes hair and trying to drag him around by it. At one point he had Jude by the tail and was following him around. They were a good match for each other but it definitely made them both much wilder than they are by themselves.

On Saturday we did some visiting with Mema, Papa, Vann, Cameron and Tim (Kelly had to work), Robbie, Stacy and the boys.

My tire ended up looking a little flat so we took it to Sams Club and ended up getting my valve stem repaired.

That afternoon before we left, Darren and I went over to Grandma and Grandpa's to pick some grapes. Darren was about done picking when he decided to give one a try. He fell in love with the grapes at the farm and so needless to say we stayed a little longer and filled our bags up. He had a great time talking with Grandpa about the grapes and the other stuff on the farm.

Shortly after we left there, we headed back home to Concord. I was pretty exhausted from that full weekend but we had a blast regardless.
